Diretrizes para Autores

Instructions to authors:
1. Original contributions for publication in Responsibility and Sustainability shall be submitted to the R&S platform and a copy sent to editor Oscar Licandro olicandro@claeh.edu.uy
2. Manuscripts must be written in English/Spanish/Portuguese, typed using the templates available (English Spanish) in Microsoft Word, with frames, tables, figures and graphs integrated in the text and numbered consecutively. 
3. The first page of the text shall contain the following information: the title of the paper, the name/s of the author/s, and the relevant institution/s. This information will be followed by an abstract of not more than 10-12 lines and up to 5 key words. A complete reference with the name, address, telephone number/s, and the e-mail address of the authors shall also be included.
4. The total length of the manuscripts, including first page, frames, tables, figures, graphs and references shall not exceed 20 pages DIN-A4. Preferably, the length of the papers should be up to 15 pages. Pages should be numbered consecutively.
5. It is recommended to make a style effort –while preserving scientific and academic rigour– in order to make the text understood both by specialists and non specialists in a concrete subject or study field. At this same purpose, inclusion of schemes and any other graphic and/or text elements supporting a right interpretation of contents is also suggested. When required, internationally accepted signs and symbols for units (SI units) should be used.

6. References to previous publications cited in the text should follow the author and date procedure, according to following examples, as appropriate: Name (year), (Name year), Name1 and Name 2 (year), (Name1 and Name2 year), Name1 et al. (year), (Name1 et al. year).
When several publications are included consecutively, they shall be listed in chronological order and separated by semicolon (;). If two or more publications are dated in a same year, alphabetical order will be the second listing criteria.
In case of literal transcriptions, text shall be cursive typed inside inverted commas, and reference page/s could be included in the quoted reference, as follows: Name (year, p. xx), (Name year, pp. xx-xx).
7. The list of references at the end of the paper should only include the contributions that were quoted in the previous text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Unpublished or unavailable works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for the reference list.

Reference list entries should appear alphabetically by the last name of the first author of each contribution. Some examples are as follows:
Complete book (one author)
Name, A. (year). Title of the book. Place of publication: Publisher.
Book chapter (two co-authors)
Name1, A., & Name2, B. (year). Title of the chapter. In C. Name3 (Ed.), Title of the book (pp. xx-xx). Place of Publication: Publisher.
Journal article
Name, A. (year). Title of the article. Title of the journal, vol(number), xx-xx.
PhD Dissertation or similar document
Name, A. (year). Title of the document. PhD dissertation. University of xxx.
Online document
Name, A. (year). Title of the document. Web owner. http://xxx/. Accessed day month year
8. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout the text with superscript Arabic numerals, typed Times
New Roman 10 cpi, and single spaced. Use of endnotes will be avoided. Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the reference list. In such case, the names of funding organizations should be written in full.

9. Those manuscripts considered to be consistent with the editorial line will be submitted to double blind refereeing process. Decision on acceptance, rejection or acceptance under request for changes will be communicated to the corresponding author as soon as possible.
10. Any manuscript which does not follow the above instructions may be submitted to corresponding author for the necessary changes to be made. In case that these changes were not made by author/s, the Editorial Board is allowed to reject the paper, no matter the reviewing or publication step it is on.
Authors of published papers accept the diffusion of their pages according to Editorial Board convenience, both in printed and/or electronic forms, with no compensation for copyright.
Any responsibility coming from the content of the articles lies with the author/s. Editorial Board and publishers do not assume any responsibility on authors’ opinions, views or their use of copyrighted materials.

Peer review process
All manuscripts will be reviewed by peer reviewers selected by editors. The manuscripts will be sent to external and internal peer-reviewers of the affiliating institution of the Journal.
The names of authors and reviewers will be kept confidential for each other.
The designated reviewers will analyse the quality of the manuscripts, in terms of scientific content and clarity in their presentation, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Journal's Management.
The result of the evaluation will be given in terms of publishable, pending with observations or rejected. An article that has received the concept of pending with observations may be reviewed a second time by the reviewers.
The Editorial Committee may also make suggestions that tend to improve the presentation of the works with a view to their publication.

Time between reception and firt response of referees is two months.
Time between receipt and estimated time for publication is four months.
